The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to limit a convicted person filing a motion for forensic DNA testing of evidence to testing of evidence that has a reasonable likelihood of containing biological material for purposes of challenging a conviction. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
