                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 20, 2015      TO: Honorable Larry Phillips, Chair, House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2445 by White, James (Relating to conduct that constitutes the offense of displaying a firearm in a public place.), As Introduced    No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Penal Code to remove the displaying of a firearm or other deadly weapon in a public place in a manner calculated to alarm from a list of offenses under Chapter 42, Penal Code. The bill would remove the offense from a list of offenses that would affect the employment of certain individuals.  Local Government Impact There would be a loss of revenue to local entities due to the fines associated with the offense; however, those costs would be offset by savings from enforcement and prosecution of the offense.
