                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 13, 2015      TO: Honorable Jimmie Don Aycock, Chair, House Committee on Public Education      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2451 by Huberty (Relating to the use by a school district of certain undesignated funds in the district's general fund.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would require school districts to maintain a minimum balance of undesignated funds in the general fund of 90 days of general operating expenses.  The Texas Education Agency anticipates any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources. Local Government Impact School districts could incur administrative costs to calculate the previous 90 days of operating expenses on an ongoing basis to comply with the required minimum balance in undesignated funds in the general fund.
