                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 7, 2015      TO: Honorable Robert Nichols, Chair, Senate Committee on Transportation      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2468 by Raymond (Relating to the transfer of certain state real property from the Texas Department of Transportation to the City of Laredo.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  This bill would direct the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to transfer certain real property to the City of Laredo. The bill would require the city to use the property to promote a public purpose of the state by enhancing tourism and providing recreation and civic improvement. The bill would specify that ownership of the property would revert back to the state on request of TxDOT or if the fails to use the property for the authorized purposes.Based on the analysis of TxDOT, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources. Local Government Impact Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
