                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 20, 2015      TO: Honorable Jimmie Don Aycock, Chair, House Committee on Public Education      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2487 by Smithee (Relating to the authority of an independent school district to contract with a municipality for the design, improvement, or construction of an instructional facility, stadium, or other athletic facility.), As Introduced    No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would allow a school district to enter into a written agreement with the municipality in which it is located to contribute resources to pay a portion of the costs of the design, improvement, or construction of certain facilities owned by, on the property of, or under the control of the municipality.  Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. Any administrative costs related to these provisions would be voluntary for the participating school district.There may be a positive fiscal impact to municipalities; however impact will vary depending on the amount of  resources contributed by a school district.
