                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 24, 2015      TO: Honorable John Zerwas, Chair, House Committee on Higher Education      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2568 by Morrison (Relating to authorizing a student center fee at the University of Houston-Victoria.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Education Code relating to authorizing a student center fee at the University of Houston - Victoria. The bill would allow the board of regents to assess a student center fee. According to the University of Houston System, estimated revenues from student center fees, bookstore and food court sales, and room rentals are assumed to increase by 15 percent each year due to assumed enrollment growth at University of Houston - Victoria. Revenues are estimated to be $4.1 million in 2016, $4.7 million in 2017, $5.4 million in 2018, $6.2 in 2019, and $7.1 million in 2020. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
