                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 9, 2015      TO: Honorable Myra Crownover, Chair, House Committee on Public Health      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2584 by Naishtat (Relating to the authority of the executive commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission to adopt rules defining certain medical conditions.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code to require the executive commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to adopt a definition of "Alzheimer's disease and related disorders" and allows the executive commissioner to modify the definition as necessary to conform to changes in medical practice. HHSC indicates that provisions of the bill can be implemented within existing resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
