The bill would amend the Water Code relating to a limitation on the authority to curtail groundwater production from wells used for power generation or mining. The Railroad Commission and the Public Utility Commission indicate that to the extent the bill amends limitations as described, no significant fiscal implication to the state is anticipated. Local Government Impact There may be administrative and hearing costs to groundwater conservation districts; however the fiscal impact would vary depending on the number of petitions filed and the district's available resources.
