The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to permit a peace officer to take an arrested defendant on a capias pro fine before another court that has concurrent jurisdiction with the court that issued the capias pro fine. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration and the Department of Public Safety, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
