                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 26, 2015      TO: Honorable Larry Phillips, Chair, House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB284 by Springer (Relating to the handgun proficiency required to obtain or renew a concealed handgun license.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code to indicate handgun proficiency for purposes of obtaining a concealed handgun license may be demonstrated with a handgun of .22 caliber or above. It is assumed any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing Department of Public Safety resources.
