The bill would amend the Transportation Code, relating to eligibility for and allocation of grants for county infrastructure projects from the Transportation Infrastructure Fund , to expand the grant program to include infrastructure projects other than those intended to address the impact of oil and gas production. The bill would amend the formula allocating grant funds by decreasing the allocation based on well completions to 40 percent from 50 percent and adding a 10 percent allocation relating to international bridge crossings.Based on the information provided by the Department of Transportation, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
