                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 18, 2015      TO: Honorable Abel Herrero, Chair, House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB3046 by Herrero (Relating to the prosecution of the offense of failure to identify; creating a criminal offense.), As Introduced    No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Penal Code to modify the offense of a person intentionally refusing to give certain information to a peace officer who has requested the information from the person to include lawfully detained persons or persons who are believed to have witnessed a crime. Local Government Impact There could be an increase of revenue from fines imposed under the provisions of the bill.
