The bill would amend Chapter 166 of the Health and Safety Code as it relates to artificially administered nutrition and hydration and life-sustaining treatment. The bill would modify the advance directive form and certain related information provided to a patient and their representative. The bill would require that a patient or their representative have access to certain information related to the patient's medical record. It is anticipated that duties and responsibilities of the implementing agencies would be accomplished through existing resources.
