The bill would require the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to issue a permit that authorizes the operation of a vehicle or combination of vehicles used to transport milk at a gross weight that is not heavier than 90,000 pounds. The bill would require the application for this permit to designate the counties in which the applicant intends to operate. The bill would authorize the DMV to issue a permit valid for less than one year and direct the fee be prorated to reflect the term of the permit.
