The bill would amend the Transportation Code to authorize the Executive Director of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) or the Executive Director's designee to restrict a commercial motor vehicle to a specific lane of traffic in a highway construction or maintenance work zone that is part of the state highway system. The bill would require TxDOT to install the necessary traffic control devices before a lace restriction could be enforced.Based on the information provided by TxDOT, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
