The bill would require the Texas Department of Public Safety to conduct a study on the public availability of Class C misdemeanor conviction records as well as the public availability of records relating to a suspension of sentence and deferral of final disposition. The study would need to be completed by January 1, 2017. It is assumed the agency could absorb the costs of this study within current resources.
