                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 21, 2015      TO: Honorable Gary Elkins, Chair, House Committee on Government Transparency & Operation      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB327 by Wu (Relating to a study on the availability of information regarding convictions and deferred dispositions for certain fine-only misdemeanors.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would require the Office of Court Administration to conduct a study on the public availability of Class C misdemeanor conviction records as well as the public availability of records relating to a suspension of sentence and deferral of final disposition.  The study would need to be completed by January 1, 2017.  It is assumed the agency could absorb the costs of this study within current resources. Local Government Impact There may be cost to local courts; however, no significant fiscal implication is anticipated.
