                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 19, 2015      TO: Honorable Joseph Pickett, Chair, House Committee on Transportation      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB3314 by Smith (Relating to the authority of the Texas Transportation Commission to fund projects related to the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend Chapter 51 of the Transportation Code, to authorize the Texas Transportation Commission to use state funds, including undedicated portions of the State Highway Fund, to assist the United States Army Corps of Engineers with the costs of maintenance and dredging activities for the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW), fund capital project for infrastructure facilities along the GIWW, and fund studies to determine the feasibility of capital projects. Based on the information provided by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), it is assumed the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant operational or fiscal impact to TxDOT or the state.
