                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 20, 2015      TO: Honorable Carol Alvarado, Chair, House Committee on Urban Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB3380 by Davis, Yvonne (Relating to the grounds for and process by which an elected officer of a home-rule municipality may be removed from office.), As Introduced    No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Local Government Code to prohibit a governing body of a municipality from removing an elected officer based on an administrative violation of a municipality's charter. The bill provides municipality process requirements of removing an elected officer from office including providing written notice of the grounds for removal and holding a public hearing which the officer may present evidence. The governing body of a municipality would be required to publish notice of a public hearing in the newspaper of the municipality by the 14th day before the hearing.  Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.The City of Coppell, the City of Sherman and the City of Hutto reported no significant fiscal impact is anticipated.
