                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 20, 2015      TO: Honorable René Oliveira, Chair, House Committee on Business & Industry      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB3400 by Walle (Relating to parties who may bring suit under the Texas Free Enterprise and Antitrust Act of 1983.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Business and Commerce Code to establish a right of action on behalf of consumers, businesses, and governmental entities who have been indirectly injured.  The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving two-thirds majority vote in each house.  Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2015.The Office of the Attorney General indicated the costs associated with implementation of the bill could be absorbed with existing resources.  Additionally, the Office of the Attorney General indicated a positive fiscal impact to General Revenue that cannot be determined at this time.
