                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 10, 2015      TO: Honorable Myra Crownover, Chair, House Committee on Public Health      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB3427 by Farney (Relating to the confidentiality of birth and death records.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code relating to the confidentiality of birth and death records. The bill would extend the confidentiality of birth records from 75 years to 125 years and death records from 25 years to 50 years. Based on the analysis provided by the Department of State Health Services, it is assumed that the provisions of the bill can be implemented within existing resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. The bill would amend the Government Code relating to the confidentiality of birth and death records.
