                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 19, 2015      TO: Honorable Jodie Laubenberg, Chair, House Committee on Elections      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB3684 by Geren (Relating to political advertising.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code to specify certain requirements related to political advertising, including identification as a political advertisement. The Ethics Commission would be required to update guidelines and instruction materials based on this change; however it is anticipated any costs associated with implementing the legislation could be absorbed within current agency resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2015. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
