                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 30, 2015      TO: Honorable Gary Elkins, Chair, House Committee on Government Transparency & Operation      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB3707 by Gonzales, Larry (Relating to cloud computing services.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend Section 2157.007 of the Government Code, to replace references of "advanced internet-based computing service" with "cloud computing service." The bill would provide "cloud computing service" with the meaning assigned by Special Publication 800-145 issued by the U.S. Department of Commerce National Institute of Standards and Technology, as the definition existed on January 1, 2015. It is assumed that any costs associated with implementation of the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
