The bill would amend the Transportation Code to permit a county with a county energy transportation reinvestment zone (CERTZ) to use money in the tax increment account to provide funding for transportation infrastructure projects throughout the county. The bill would permit a commissioners court to enter into an agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDoT) to designate a CERTZ involving a state highway located in the county. The bill would permit a county to create an advisory board to advise the county on the CERTZ. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
