The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to permit an individual who has been convicted of any offense under state law to apply for restoration of civil rights if the individual's sentence was completed, three years have elapsed since the date of conviction, and the individual has not been convicted of any other offense. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
