 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to the availability on the Internet of personal financial
 statements filed by certain state officeholders.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1.  Subchapter B, Chapter 572, Government Code, is
 amended by adding Section 572.0321 to read as follows:
 Sec. 572.0321.  AVAILABILITY OF CERTAIN STATEMENTS ON
 INTERNET. (a) The commission shall make available to the public on
 the commission's Internet website each financial statement filed
 under this subchapter by the following persons:
 (1)  a member of the legislature;
 (2)  an executive or judicial officer elected in a
 statewide election; and
 (3)  a member of the State Board of Education.
 (b)  The commission shall make a financial statement
 described in Subsection (a) available on the commission's Internet
 website not later than the 10th business day after the date the
 statement is filed.
 (c)  The commission shall remove the home address of an
 individual from a financial statement filed by the individual under
 this subchapter before posting the statement on the commission's
 Internet website under this section.
 (d)  Notwithstanding Section 572.032(c), the commission may
 not remove a financial statement described in Subsection (a) from
 the commission's Internet website before the 10th anniversary of
 the date the commission makes the statement available on the
 commission's Internet website.
 SECTION 2.  Section 572.0321, Government Code, as added by
 this Act, applies only to a financial statement filed under
 Subchapter B, Chapter 572, Government Code, that is due on or after
 September 1, 2015.
 SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
