The bill would amend portions of the Parks and Wildlife Code to exempt certain law enforcement and active duty military personnel from the requirement to complete a hunter education course prior to receiving a hunting license. The bill would allow the Parks and Wildlife Department to charge an administrative fee to process applications of those exempted from the requirement. Based on information provided by the Comptroller of Public Accounts, the bill could result in a minimal revenue gain or loss to the Game, Fish, and Water Safety Account No. 9, as reductions in hunter education course fees could be offset in whole or in part by additional revenue from administrative fees. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
