                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 10, 2015      TO: Honorable Byron Cook, Chair, House Committee on State Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB63 by González, Mary (Relating to state collaboration with federally recognized Indian tribes.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code by adding Chapter 471 to require state agencies to collaborate with federally recognized American Indian tribes and for the Governor, or his or her designee, to meet once a year with tribes. A sample of agencies including the Office of the Governor, the Secretary of State and the Department of Public Safety indicate that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within the agencies' existing resources. The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving two-thirds majority vote in each house. Otherwise the bill would take effect September 1, 2015. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
