The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code to require that the Office of Violent Sex Offender Management (OVSOM) provide advance notice of any intent to house committed persons in a residence or facility that has not previously served as housing for committed persons under the chapter. The bill would require notice in writing to each member of the legislature who represents a district that includes a county where the housing is to be located. OVSOM indicates that implementation of the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within current resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
