                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 1, 2015      TO: Honorable Richard Peña Raymond, Chair, House Committee on Human Services      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB679 by Turner, Sylvester (relating to a study on homeless youth.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill amends the Government Code relating to a study on homeless youth. The bill directs the Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA), in conjunction with other members of the Texas Interagency Council for the Homeless, to conduct a study on homeless youth and submit a report to the legislature including a summary of information and recommendations for changes to law necessary to provide services to or otherwise assist homeless youth. Based on the analysis of TDHCA, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.  Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
