                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 23, 2015      TO: Honorable René Oliveira, Chair, House Committee on Business & Industry      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB687 by Sheets (Relating to confidential communications between an insurance carrier and a covered employer under the Texas Workers' Compensation Act.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to confidential communications between an insurance carrier and a covered employer under the Texas Workers' Compensation Act.  Based on information provided by the Office of the Attorney General, Texas Workforce Commission, Teacher Retirement System, Employees Retirement System, Department of Insurance, Texas A&M University System Administration, University of Texas System Administration, and the State Office of Risk Management, it is assumed that all duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing staff and resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to confidential communications between an insurance carrier and a covered employer under the Texas Workers' Compensation Act.
