LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION May 27, 2015 TO: Honorable Joe Straus, Speaker of the House, House of Representatives FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE:HB77 by González, Mary (Relating to a study of the Dallas Men Against Abuse program and other activities in the Dallas community addressing family violence.), As Passed 2nd House No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), in conjunction with a statewide coalition on family violence and with assistance from the other health and human services agencies and the Texas Education Agency (TEA) as needed, to conduct a study and report to the legislature on activities in the Dallas community that address family violence, with a focus on the Dallas Men Against Abuse program. This analysis assumes that any costs to HHSC to implement the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within current resources. TEA indicates that any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources. Local Government Impact Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
