                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 28, 2015      TO: Honorable Joe Straus, Speaker of the House, House of Representatives      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB824 by Kuempel (Relating to the sale of alcoholic beverages to customers of a package store during certain hours. ), As Passed 2nd House    Although the bill's provisions could result in increased production and additional revenuecollections, the amounts in the aggregate cannot be estimated. Therefore, the bill could have anindeterminate revenue gain to the State.  The bill would amend the Alcoholic Beverage Code relating to the sale of alcoholic beverages to customers of a package store after the designated end of the hours of legal sale. The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) has determined that this provision of the bill would not result in a significant fiscal impact to the State.The bill would amend the Alcoholic Beverage Code relating to sale limitations of certaindistilled spirit products as specified in the bill. TABC indicates the bill would have no fiscal cost impact on TABC. The Comptroller of Public Accounts reports that although the bill's provisions could result in increased production and additional revenue collections, the amounts in the aggregate cannot be estimated.The bill would take effect immediately, or, if the bill does not receive the necessary vote, September 1, 2015. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
