                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 27, 2015      TO: Honorable Abel Herrero, Chair, House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB877 by Bohac (Relating to creating the offense of intimidation by a member of a criminal street gang.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Penal Code by creating the offense of intimidation by a gang member.  Under the provisions of the bill, intimidation by a gang member would be punishable as a felony of the third degree. This analysis assumes the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant impact on state correctional agencies.
