No. 882 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT relating to the director and assistant director of the Texas Military Preparedness Commission. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 436.057, Government Code, is amended by adding Subsections (a-1), (b), and (d) to read as follows: (a-1) The commission shall, subject to approval of the governor, hire an assistant director to assist the director in the performance of the administrative duties of the commission. (b) The commission, in hiring the director and the assistant director, shall consider applicants who have significant and extensive experience and knowledge relating to military installation operations, the defense industry, and the United States Department of Defense, including retired senior military officers from any branch of the armed forces of the United States. (d) The director may not hold another position in the office of the governor. SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
