The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to make a shareholder or member of a business entity liable with the business entity for damages arising from human trafficking if the shareholder or member of the business entity caused the business entity to be used for human trafficking or knew the business entity was engaging in these practices and directly benefited from this trafficking. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill would not have a significant fiscal impact to the state. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
