                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 14, 2015      TO: Honorable Gary Elkins, Chair, House Committee on Government Transparency & Operation      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB986 by Capriglione (Relating to the creation of a chief innovation officer position for the Legislative Budget Board.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code to require the director of the Legislative Budget Board to appoint a chief innovation officer to perform duties and responsibilities outlined by the bill.  The bill would require the director of the Legislative Budget Board to appoint a chief innovation officer as soon as practicable after the effective date of the bill.Based on information provided by the Legislative Budget Board and the Department of Information Resources, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
