                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 25, 2015      TO: Honorable Ryan Guillen, Chair, House Committee on Culture, Recreation & Tourism      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB988 by González, Mary (relating to a study of the feasibility of establishing a visitors center at Hueco Tanks State Park in El Paso County), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Parks and Wildlife Code to require a study on the need for and feasibility of establishing a visitors center at Hueco Tanks State Park.  The bill would require the Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) to collaborate with the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo in planning for the visitors center.According to information provided by TPWD, the bill would result in minimal cost to contract the study.  This analysis assumes the cost associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.   Local Government Impact Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
