The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $118,681. The bill would amend Section 64A, Article III of the Texas Constitution to permit Bexar County to adopt a county charter to integrate the county government with other political subdivisions, including a municipality, special district or authority, or other political subdivisions. The bill prescribes the duties of the county if the county adopts a charter and integrates under the provisions of the bill. The bill would require the Legislature to establish procedures for the appointment of a charter commission and the adoption of a charter. Local Government Impact Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
