Any additional fiscal implication would be attributable to the corresponding enabling legislation. The cost to the State for publication of the resolution is $118,681. The resolution would propose an amendment to Section 1-b(i), Article VIII, of the Texas Constitution, to permit the Legislature to grant a property tax exemption of all or part of the market value of residence homesteads of disabled veterans who are certified as having a service-connected disability with a disability rating of at least 80 percent, rather than a rating of 100 percent or totally disabled. The proposed amendment, in and of itself, would not create a cost to units of local government or the state other than the cost of publication. Any additional cost would be attributable to the implementing legislation.The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $118,681.The proposed amendment would be submitted to voters at an election to be held November 3, 2015.
