R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Wildcat Wranglers of Lake Highlands High School
in Dallas were honored with an invitation to perform in the 2015 New
Year's Day Parade in London, England; and
WHEREAS, Made up of 46 talented juniors and seniors at Lake
Highlands High, this spirited team of country-and-western stunt
dancers perform their energetic routines at community, charity,
business, and sporting events throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth
region; and
WHEREAS, The Wildcat Wranglers have delighted thousands of
people at Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Cowboys games, at the Dallas
Cup soccer tournament, and at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in
New York City; they have also performed at five consecutive Black
Tie and Boots presidential inaugural balls in Washington, D.C.; and
WHEREAS, On January 1, 2015, the Wranglers appeared with more
than 8,500 performers from 20 countries around the world in
London's New Year's Day Parade; each year, this spectacular event
draws hundreds of thousands of spectators to the streets of London
and is broadcast around the world to nearly 300 million television
viewers; and
WHEREAS, By taking part in London's New Year's Day Parade, the
gifted young men and women of the Wildcat Wranglers brought Texas
sass and style to an international audience, and they may take great
pride in their participation in this prestigious event; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the Lake Highlands High School
Wildcat Wranglers on their performance in the 2015 London New
Year's Day Parade and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued success and a bright future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the Wildcat Wranglers as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
