R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce is celebrating
its 30th anniversary in 2015, and this milestone provides a welcome
opportunity to honor this outstanding organization; and
WHEREAS, With 37 charter members, the Greater Pflugerville
Chamber of Commerce was formed in October 1985 to serve the area
within the Pflugerville Independent School District boundaries at
a time when the city's business community was just beginning to
grow; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the ensuing years, the Pflugerville
chamber has demonstrated an enduring commitment to the city's
quality of life, and it has been particularly active in supporting
public education; among other initiatives, it has helped forge a
strong bond between the school district and business owners, and it
has encouraged its members to participate in several of the
Pflugerville Independent School District programs, including job
shadowing and scholarships; and
WHEREAS, The Pflugerville chamber was the City of
Pflugerville's original economic development agent, and it has
welcomed hundreds of new businesses to its market with the "Come
Home to Shop" campaign; and
WHEREAS, The chamber has partnered with the business
community and various organizations since its founding to keep the
local economy strong and independent and, in so doing, it has helped
a small town develop into a vibrant and progressive city; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the Pflugerville Chamber of
Commerce on its 30th anniversary and extend to the organization's
board of directors, staff, and member investors sincere best wishes
for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the chamber as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
