R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Dr. David Greer of Henrietta is serving the Texas
House of Representatives as Physician of the Day on January 15,
2015; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas Medical Branch
at Galveston, David Greer subsequently joined the United States
Army, serving in Germany and Vietnam and in veterans' hospitals in
San Francisco; he earned a number of commendations during his
military tenure, including a Bronze Star with oak leaf clusters, an
Air Medal with eight oak leaf clusters, an Army Commendation Medal,
and a Purple Heart; and
WHEREAS, In 1972, Dr. Greer opened a private practice in
Henrietta, which he operated for more than four decades until his
retirement on December 31, 2014; he is a member of the American
Academy of Family Physicians as well as the national and state
medical associations, and he holds specialty certification from the
American Board of Family Medicine; he was named Texas Family
Physician of the Year in 2004; and
WHEREAS, This skilled and compassionate physician has
rendered exceptional care to the residents of Henrietta and the
surrounding area, and it is a pleasure to recognize him at this time
for his outstanding 50-year medical career and to welcome him to the
State Capitol; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby honor Dr. David Greer for his participation in
the Physician of the Day program and commend him for his
professional achievements; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Dr. Greer as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
