H.R. No. 1441 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Students from Hondo High School placed first in the parliamentary procedure event at the 2015 Business Professionals of America State Leadership Conference in Dallas on March 7; and WHEREAS, The Business Professionals of America organization is dedicated to helping students develop essential skills for careers in business management, office administration, information technology, and other endeavors crucial to the U.S. economy; the annual BPA State Leadership Conference brings together more than 3,500 students from across Texas to compete in a variety of challenging competitions to showcase their occupational abilities; and WHEREAS, By capturing the school's second consecutive and third overall state title in the parliamentary procedure event, the team qualified to compete at this year's BPA National Leadership Conference being held May 6 through 10 in Anaheim, California; benefiting from the guidance of team sponsor Sally Bader, the group includes David Rihn, Monica Vega, Pete Rochat, Maegan McKay, Ellie Jones, Cindy Bryant, and Justina Graff; and WHEREAS, Through their involvement in the BPA State Leadership Conference, these admirable young Texans are building a strong foundation for future success, and they may reflect with pride on their notable accomplishments; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the Hondo High School parliamentary procedure team on their first-place finish at the 2015 Business Professionals of America State Leadership Conference and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
