 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Those Texans who dedicate their time and talents to
 benefit the larger community make the world a better place through
 their actions and their example, and Uriel Posada of El Paso is one
 such person; and
 WHEREAS, A native of Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, Mr. Posada
 graduated with a bachelor's degree in electronic media from The
 University of Texas at El Paso in 1998; he subsequently began his
 career in journalism as a reporter in Albuquerque, and he later
 returned to El Paso to work as a community partnership coordinator
 for the Region 19 ESC Head Start program; and
 WHEREAS, In 2002, Mr. Posada was hired as a producer for a
 Univision affiliate station in Denver, and four years later, he
 transferred to Univision 19 Sacramento in California, where he
 served as executive producer and as interim news director; he
 further distinguished himself as a producer for Voz y Voto, the only
 Spanish-language political television show in the state; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Posada once again settled in West Texas in 2010
 when he was named news director of the Telemundo 48 newscast
 Telenoticias El Paso, and his many responsibilities there included
 managing the program's style and content; today, he serves as news
 director of Univision 26 El Paso, and the extensive experience and
 leadership he has brought to that position have garnered him
 widespread respect and admiration; in addition to his professional
 duties, he earned a master's degree in Latin American and border
 studies from UTEP in 2012; and
 WHEREAS, Over the years, Mr. Posada has received
 well-deserved recognition for his outstanding work in
 broadcasting; he is the winner of three Emmy Awards, and he was
 honored by the Hispanic caucus of the California State Assembly;
 and
 WHEREAS, Throughout his notable career, Uriel Posada has
 demonstrated unwavering commitment, boundless energy, and great
 integrity in the service of his profession and his community, and it
 is indeed a pleasure to honor him for his significant efforts in
 behalf of the greater good; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby commend Uriel Posada for his contributions to
 the El Paso community and extend to him sincere best wishes for
 continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Posada as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
