No. 147 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The Baptist Immigration Center of Plano celebrated its eighth anniversary on November 4, 2014; and WHEREAS, Inspired by their faith, a group of Plano community leaders established the Baptist Immigration Center in September 2006 to help individuals and families resolve their legal immigration issues; since then, this nonprofit organization has remained deeply committed to achieving positive social change and ensuring justice for immigrants of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds; and WHEREAS, The Baptist Immigration Center offers numerous services designed to facilitate legal residency and reunite families; it assists clients with a broad range of procedures and paperwork, including family visa petitions, waivers of inadmissibility, and citizenship applications, and it provides legal defense in deportation and removal cases; and WHEREAS, Staff members at the center approach each case with dedication and empathy, working tirelessly to advocate for their clients; the organization is guided by founder and chief executive officer Gloria Granados, who has over 20 years of experience in the field and who has been designated as an accredited representative by the Board of Immigration Appeals; and WHEREAS, Since its inception, the Baptist Immigration Center of Plano has assisted thousands of immigrants in their quest to build better lives as legal residents of the United States of America, and it is a privilege to join in recognizing the organization for its outstanding accomplishments; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby commemorate the eighth anniversary of the Baptist Immigration Center of Plano and extend to its leadership and staff sincere best wishes for continued success with their important work; and, be it further RESOLVED, Than an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the center as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
