H.R. No. 1490
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Marcos Flores of Calallen Middle School was named
the State Middle School Principal of the Year for 2014-2015 by the
Texas Association of Secondary School Principals; and
WHEREAS, TASSP annually recognizes secondary school
administrators throughout Texas who have demonstrated exceptional
performance and leadership; nominations for the award are submitted
by peers, parents, and students, and state winners are eligible for
consideration as the national principal of the year; and
WHEREAS, Selected for the prestigious accolade out of a pool
of more than 5,500 worthy candidates, Mr. Flores works diligently
for the betterment of his school, encouraging his students and
peers to succeed and serving as a strong and caring role model for
all; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed administrator is a familiar face at
the school's athletic events and club meetings and is known for his
ability to anticipate and solve problems; a valued member of TASSP,
he was also honored as the organization's Region 2 Middle School
Principal of the Year; and
WHEREAS, The commitment to excellence that Marcos Flores has
brought to his endeavors at Calallen Middle School has inspired
faculty, staff, and students alike, and through his achievements,
he is helping many young Texans to acquire the skills they will need
to build fulfilling and productive lives; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Marcos Flores on his selection as
the 2014-2015 State Middle School Principal of the Year and extend
to him sincere best wishes for continued success with his important
work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Flores as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
