No. 1494 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Bill and Martha Westfall retired from their positions with the Robstown Independent School District in 2012, following more than 40 years of outstanding contributions to their students and their community; and WHEREAS, After graduating from high school in Cisco, where the two were sweethearts, Mr. and Mrs. Westfall attended The University of Texas and then went on to look for a school district where they both could teach; they were hired by Robstown ISD in June 1971, one month before they exchanged the vows of matrimony; and WHEREAS, At Robstown High School, Mr. Westfall taught economics and government, and Mrs. Westfall was an English teacher and later served as the testing coordinator for the district; the Westfalls endeavored to make learning fun and to both challenge and encourage their students, and their influences can be seen across generations of Robstown scholars; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Westfall remained in Robstown after they retired, and they enjoy spending more time with their loved ones and taking their grandchildren to the Nueces County Keach Family Library; and WHEREAS, In demonstrating an unwavering commitment to helping their students succeed, Bill and Martha Westfall have made a lasting positive difference in the lives of countless area residents, and they may take well-deserved pride in their exceptional records of achievement; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby commend Bill and Martha Westfall on their outstanding service with the Robstown Independent School District and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Westfall as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
