R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Bernardo Gonzales is greatly benefiting the Ysleta
del Sur Pueblo through his service on the tribal council as aguacil,
or tribal sheriff; and
WHEREAS, In 2008, Mr. Gonzales was appointed by the tribal
council to act as its representative to the board of Tigua
Incorporated, the Pueblo's for-profit development corporation; he
also works for the tribe's Procurement Department; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Gonzales previously was employed by the YDSP as
a gaming officer for the Tigua Gaming Agency, which is responsible
for instituting and regulating policy for gaming operations;
moreover, he served on the Economic Development Advisory Committee,
which was instrumental in the formulation of the bylaws and
strategic planning for Tigua Incorporated; his work with EDAC
included field research among other tribes to study successful
corporate models; and
WHEREAS, Through his skill and dedication, Bernardo Gonzales
is contributing significantly to the quality of life for the Ysleta
del Sur Pueblo, and he is indeed deserving of special
recognition; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby honor Bernardo Gonzales for his service as
aguacil for the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo and extend to him sincere best
wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Gonzales as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
