R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Pflugerville Recreation Center is marking its
15th anniversary in April 2015, and this is a fitting opportunity to
take note of this invaluable community resource; and
WHEREAS, Opened on April 29, 2000, by the Pflugerville Parks
and Recreation Department, this state-of-the-art, 21,675
square-foot facility features a gymnasium with two half courts, an
elevated walking and jogging track, a nursery, and a game room where
patrons may play Ping-Pong, pool, football, and air hockey; the
center's "Pfitness" room features free weights, cardio equipment,
and a weight training circuit; and
WHEREAS, The center boasts nearly 1,400 members, and over
4,000 people take part in the more than 40 classes and programs at
the facility each week, including Zumba, gymnastics, and karate, as
well as programs for seniors; and
WHEREAS, For 15 years, the Pflugerville Recreation Center has
provided a welcoming location where area residents happily come
together for exercise, recreation, and good fellowship, and it is a
pleasure to join in celebrating this milestone in its history; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby commemorate the 15th anniversary of the
Pflugerville Recreation Center and extend to the center's staff
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the Pflugerville Recreation Center as an expression of
high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
